- You can also use bleaching powder. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of bleaching powder in warm water. Use hot water at extreme temperatures as it is a well-known fact that bed bugs cannot survive at temperatures greater than 114 degrees Fahrenheit, or at least 60 degrees Celsius.
- Place the garments in a dryer to get rid of bed bugs from your clothes.
- Vacuum the clothes. This is also one of the best ways to kill bed bugs on clothes. After that treatment put these clothes in plastic bags.
- You can also expose your clothes to sunlight. The heat of direct sunlight is enough to kill bed bugs. However, this is possible only on sunny days. For other climatic conditions, you have to go with the other ways to get rid of bed bugs.
- Dry cleaning your clothes also results in getting the bed bugs out of them, and will preserve your clothes’ ability to present your style statement.
- Use an alcohol solution to get rid of bed bugs from your clothes.
- Borax is equally effective in removing bed bugs from your clothes.
- Whenever an infested house is treated with pesticides or by exterminators, it results in complete removal of pests including bed bugs. This requires no special treatment of clothes.
Although the above treatments are effective enough to get rid of bed bugs from your clothes, it is very hard to kill the bed bugs. You can either prevent or remove them, but it is difficult to kill them. The most effective way is to prevent the bed bugs by following the prevention methods.

We shifted to new house in sharjah UAE.Nothing in the room except floor mat and pillows to sleep.The next day my wife and kids found tiny creatures on the edge of sealing.I collected them and came to know they were bed bugs which came through school uniforms.We managed to get rid of these by covering our bed with plastic sheets.

Can bedbugs just up and leave ? The apt was sprayed twice 1 bedroom per spraying. I was getting bitten every night to the point where I had over 200 bites and was on creams(s) from the doctor. It has been that way the last 2 months, then all off a sudden it stopped !!! The itching and blotches fade away over about a 5 day period are all gone ??? Where did they go ? Did they find a new host ???

@ craig you might have developed immunity to the bites so ur skin doesnt react. bed bugs bite EVERYONE but only some ppl are allergic and get welts.
@Vanda seal up any cracks in walls, cover mattresses and box springs in plastic and vacuum like there is no tomorrow. we once sealed our cracks with tape in college and they went away but then my roommate removed the tape after a few months and they started biting again. they remain alice for a year without food so seal it with something permanent.

We have found that Dawn dish soap and water will instantly kill live bedbugs. Nice cheap and easy way. The big ones need to be sprayed twice but the others only once.

@mckenzie: Its best if you get professionals to help you. I am facing the same problem. I have welts all over my body. I dont even know what to wear since its quite warm outside and I have to cover my entire body so that the rash is not visible. Call exterminators ASAP. Before you know you’ll have a huge infestation in your house.
